Ireland is moving slowly E and its
fronts are slowly crossing the Br.Isles,
though with marked troughing behind
them as a cold pool moves E into Biscay.
Pressure remains high over
Greenland and Scandinavia, and into Russia..
At 0600, the main trough lies
from NW Ireland to Cornwall. Pressure
remains relatively low over central
Europe.

Bright or sunny over most areas by day with cloud increasing in
the far W..
Light snow fell at first in the SE and light rain or sleet in the
far W.
Overnight strong SE wind developed in the W and moderate to heavy rain
moved
into Ireland with sleet in the Hebrides. Post front, the winds
slackened
and veered to the SW. Wettest station overnight was Valentia
with 19 mm,
Belfast had 7 mm and Tiree 2 mm.
