Synoptic Situation at 0600 29/01/1963     next day

The high over the Br.Isles has declined and moved SW to S Ireland with weak
troughs moving SW across SE districts of England.  Much of this area is
covered by a warm sector.  A more marked trough has moved SE towards N
Scotland and will move across the whole of the Br.Isles as  new high moves
NE to Iceland.  Low, 1008mb, lies over the Azores and pressure remains low
in the Mediterranean.

Weather over the British Isles:

Mostly cloudy with light rain in the S and E and some fog in the Midlands.
The rain continued into the night with sleet in places.  More general rain
approached the far NW late in the period.
