The images below show the snow level falling to the south - to the left in these images.  Cold northerly winds are often least cold on coasts facing them.  This effect can be seen in images 3 and 7 where snow can hardly be seen.  By the time the air had reached 1 and 4, it had crossed about 20 miles of land and cooled as a consequence.  Most of the land seen is on Inishowen Peninsula, Co.Donegal ROI.  Malin Head lies at the northern tip of Inishowen.

1 - Snow is seen almost down to sea level across Lough Foyle in Co.Donegal

2 - Snow level is slightly higher as I move camera more to the north

3 - No sign of snow now, looking across Magilligan Point.  Malin Head is about 15 miles further to the north west
